Workshop Programme Support
The following are in support of the Soul Garden series of experiential and experimental workshops
Tara is running in 2010.
Inner Child Psychotherapeutic Work
"Attention is the most basic form of love." (John Tarrant)
In this work we deal with the biological wounding that has occurred in a child's life.
As adults many of us end up in therapy because we are not managing our daily lives, we
keep repeating the same patterns that are not fulfilling or life enhancing, in fact we
are often very unhappy in relationships and feel that in general "something" is missing
in our lives.
By doing psychotherapeutic work focusing on the "inner child" we can learn to establish
what wounding has occurred in our childhood, even if our parents seemed decent people.
Or in other cases children went through family violence, sexual and/or physical abuse.
The first important task is to gain awareness in the here and now of how many patterns
we carry that trace back to early childhood. By separating out adult and child in
ourselves, we often, for the first time, can see and contact a little wounded child that
needs our attention desperately. We learn the easiest by parents modeling behaviour
(both good and bad). If we have not experienced parents paying loving attention to us,
it will take a strong commitment to change that behaviour in ourselves.
On a more positive note we usually also find the joy and loving stories of our life.
Often under the depression and sadness, we discover our genuineness, truth and creativity.
In restoring the energy and life force in our body and spirit, we can bring true intimacy
in our adult relationships.
Dreams and Intuition
It is not uncommon to find that people live their lives on a superficial level, unconscious
of deeper strata that exists within. Through learning to listen more to that "still small
voice within" and to the messages in our dreams, it is possible to gain inspiration and
hope and a stronger sense of belonging in our world.
After years of collecting and working with my dreams it is my desire to share my passion
and insights with others who dream as well. I often find my clients will present dreams
and it is useful to feel prepared to at least talk about these experiences and offer support.
I know that dreams often bring us a straight connection to the unconscious in a symbolic manner.
Walking the Journey
Walking the Journey is a metaphor for living life in a spiritual and conscious manner, always
seeking and learning further. There is a sense of walking with others but the deeper journey
I walk alone.
Who am I? An ancient question that has been asked for thousands of years by those seekers like
myself.
I have learned along the way that certain tools and disciplines have helped me to survive and
strengthen. It is my desire to share the ways that have assisted me in my exploration.
Come, Come, Whoever You Are
Wonderer, worshipper, lover of leaving.
It doesn't matter.
Ours is not a caravan of despair.
Come, even if you have broken your vow
a thousand times
Come, yet again, come, come.
